Instructions for use
Service concentration :
External lubrication : 7 – 12 %
Internal lubrication (mandrel) as undiluted concentrate or 7 – 25 % emulsion
Prior to fresh preparation, the complete system has to be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly. Subsequently, all pipings are rinsed with 1% emulsion for about two hours. The rinsing emulsion will then be pumped out, and for the fresh preparation, the tank will be filled with water of a total hardness of 90 – 180 ppm CaCO3 (5 – 10°d) and is preheated to 30 °C to 40 °C. The calculated quantity of the concentrate Kubitrac 2508 EB will be slowly added while stirring (circulation pump switched on). The pilger rolling process can be started as soon as the whole emulsion reaches a temperature of 40 °C to 45 °C. To achieve long service life of the emulsion and optimal pilgering results, excellent emulsion maintenance is indispensable. This includes :
· Avoid ingress of salts (chlorides, sulphates) which might cause corrosion and split of the emulsion. Only use demineralised water to top up the emulsion.
· Regular removal of tramp oil (e.g. hydraulic oil) and grease (e.g. bearing lubrication) from the emulsion surface.
· Permanent cleaning of the emulsion (backward movement from the pilger mill) by means of suitable filter systems. Recommended pore size of the filter paper: approx. 40 μm. Stable emulsion temperature by heating/cooling to 40 °C to 45 °C, also during shutdown times (e.g. weekends) to avoid excessive bacterial growth. In case the emulsion is not circulated, care for suitable ventilation by blowing air into the tank (e.g. via lances).
· Storage : to be stored under dry conditions ; protect from freezing. Temperature range +5 °C to +60 °C
